Small Groups – Live Your Life Connected!
Life is not meant to be lived alone. In fact, God hates loneliness. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at Linked UP, we encourage you to get into a small group.
A small group is a group of three or more people who gather weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly during Spring, Summer, and Fall Semesters in a home, workplace, or online. In a group, you’ll hang out, study the Word, and pray together.
Groups come in all shapes and sizes — Married Couples, Outreach, Men, Women, College, Prayer, Marketplace Ministry, Motorcycle Groups, Homeschooling Moms, Young Adults, Forever Young (Ages 60 & Older) — the list goes on. No matter where you are in life, there’s a group for you.

The best way to experience a small group is to start one of your own. It’s simple! Just grab two friends, find a place to meet, and you’re good to go!

Leading a small group isn’t about being perfect; it’s about serving others by giving them a place to connect. Hosting a group is simple—choose a topic that interests you and select a time and location to meet with others to share it. We give you essential tools to make your small group successful through Leadership Training and a directory where you can register your group so others can find it easily. We believe people’s lives are changed one semester at a time by moving one step toward Christ, and as a small group leader, you get to play an important role in that process.
What is the purpose of Small Groups?
Small Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Small Groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.
Who can join a group?
Anyone. You do not have to be a member of Linked UP Church to join a group.
What happens at a small group meeting?
You’ve probably seen small groups meeting and not even realized it. A small group looks like friends at lunch, teams playing basketball, or people studying a book or topic of interest. At its core, a small group is a small gathering of people, and it is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. By participating in small groups, you can expect to connect with others through a shared activity, engage in life-giving conversation and request prayer.
When do they meet?
Every group meets at a different time. Our groups do meet on a semester basis. We currently have a Spring and Fall semester. During the semester, our groups can meet either weekly, bi-weekly, or once a month. Small groups are meant to bring meaning and community into the flow of your life so even if you can’t attend every, single meeting, there is still great value in joining a group
Where do small groups meet?
Small groups meet in places like homes, parks, restaurants, coffee shops and office buildings. The leader of the group selects a meeting spot that best fits the purpose of the group. Small groups happen throughout the Metro Atlanta Area or Online.
How do I join?
Simply find a group you like & click on join!
Do I have to purchase anything to join a group?
It depends on the group. Some groups have required books or workbooks and others may have a kit such as Financial Peace University.
Can I attend more than one group?
If your schedule allows.
What if I don’t like the first group I try?
The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to select a few groups that interest you, contact the leaders and try out a couple of different groups before choosing the best one for you. The simple strategy to finding success in small groups is not to give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone—including you!
Is there childcare available?
Childcare varies from group to group. When you search our directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if childcare is available.
How long does a typical small group stay together?
Most small groups meet for a semester. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the semester format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive semesters, but new members are always welcome.
