21 Days of Prayer: Day 1 – Wisdom

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself. – Ephesians 1:7-9 (NKJV)

The wisdom of God awaits the person who surrenders to the leading of the Holy Spirit. God’s richest blessings are accessed by those who follow after His Spirit, instead of being directed only by their senses and current circumstances. In order to live a life led by the Spirit, you will have to consecrate yourself to God’s plan for your life instead of following after a plan of your own making.

Setting aside time in your day to spend time with the Lord helps to refocus you on your true calling and purpose. Throughout the next 21 days, we will embark on a journey that places you in a position to not only hear but also act on the wisdom of God. To know the will of God is the highest of all wisdom. Living in the center of God’s will rules out all falseness of religion and puts the stamp of real sincerity upon our service to God. The Bible reveals that God has a plan for our life and when we choose to trust Him, He will direct and lead us in the fulfillment of this plan.

There is a peace that comes with having the wisdom of God concerning His plan for your life. Peace with God, peace within your heart, and the joy of fellowship with Christ have in themselves a beneficial effect upon the body and mind, and will lead to the development and preservation of life.

Thought for the Day:

The Bible reveals that God has a plan for our life and when we choose to trust Him, He will direct and lead us in the fulfillment of this plan.

 Connect & Reflect:

  • What specific word or phrase from Ephesians 1:7-9 stood out or spoke to you today?
  • Why does it please God to make known to you His will for your life?
  • How can you practice becoming more sensitive to the Spirit of God on a daily basis?

Scripture References: Proverbs 4:7; Isaiah 11:2; Proverbs 8:11

Father, as I begin this journey for the next 21 days, I humbly ask your Spirit lead and guide me into all truth. Help me to trust in your plan and proper timing for everything in my life. Your wisdom abounds toward me and resides within me because of your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Wisdom – Heavenly Father, I pray that my child develops a discerning spirit and wisdom in choosing the right friends. Grant them a clear understanding of right and wrong as well as absolute truth. In the Name of Jesus, Amen!
