He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. – Luke 6:48 (NKJV)
Have you ever been asked, “How’s life treating you?” Life treats everyone the same, but everyone does not respond the same way to life. You will encounter storms – rough times, disappointments, and frustrations. Preparation in the “quiet seasons” of your life get you ready for the bumps in the road ahead. Christ desires to be the Rock (foundation) to every family. He will hold you together when it seems like everything else is falling apart.
Make spiritual investments or deposits that will make your home a nest without thorns. For example, daily prayer-pray that your home will be a place of motivation and edification (building up-not tearing down). Another example is daily Bible reading-create an environment of continuous learning and development in the home. Lastly, demonstrate thankfulness-thank and praise God for being the Head of the home (leading the family by His Holy Spirit).
Connect to God
When the storms of life come, become deeply rooted in Christ (our Rock). His Power will give you Peace.
