21 Days of Prayer: Day 16 – Peace

Categories: Principles,Stories

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. – Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

Peace is not the absence of problems, but it’s the confident assurance of the Presence of God with you in the midst of problems. God has freely given you His peace as His Promise to you. There will be times when issues arise within family, on the job, or with relationships. Refocus your thoughts on the Word of God instead of your problems. Exchange thoughts of worry and fear for His strength and peace.
Prepare and plan to remain at peace during trials. God has given you the ability to remain calm in troubled times, and you must be willing to not only hear, but also obey what God is saying to you. Allow God to comfort your heart and remind you that everything will work out for your good. You have a greater source to depend on in times of trouble, grief, and chaos. Utilize this promise daily, and determine to not allow any outside circumstance to rob you of your peace. In your quiet time, take all of your concerns and cast them to God in prayer.

Thought for the Day:

Refocus your thoughts on the Word of God instead of your problems. Exchange thoughts of worry and fear for His strength and peace.

Connect & Reflect:
  • What specific word or phrase from Isaiah 26:3 stood out or spoke to you today?
  • Do you find it difficult to spend quiet time on a daily basis with the Lord? What habits can you create/enforce to ensure you have uninterrupted time with the Lord?
  • How does knowing you are already victorious through Christ help you not to worry?
Scripture References: Psalm 29:11; Philippians 4:7; Colossians 3:15
Father, I set my heart to live a life of contentment. I am at peace. No matter the circumstances — riches or poverty, sickness or health, good or bad – You are greater.  You are greater than my worst day. You are greater than my best day. will work toward whatever desire you have placed in my heart with joy and diligence. I am not anxious. I have complete trust in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We are using daily prayer targets as a way to encourage our families to pray for their children each day during 21 Days of Prayer:
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – John 14:27 (NKJV)
  • Peace – Heavenly Father, give my child true peace within their Spirit.  Free their minds from distractions and anxiety. Fill them with calmness and confidence that flows from You. In the Name of Jesus, Amen!
